Tang Dezhi, former vice-chairman of the Guizhou Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, has been prosecuted on suspicion of accepting bribes, the Supreme People's Procuratorate announced on Friday.
Proceedings have been initiated by prosecutors in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, and recently filed in the local court, the SPP said.
The indictment alleges that Tang took advantage of his various official posts in Guizhou, including director of the planning and construction division of the provincial government general office, Party secretary of the Qiannan Bouyei and Miao autonomous prefecture, and vice-chairman of the CPPCC Guizhou Provincial Committee, to seek benefits for others in exchange for a huge amount of money and gifts.
During the review and prosecution process, Tang and his defense lawyers were given the right to litigation and share their opinions on the case, the statement added.
Tang, 60, began his career in 1985 and joined the CPC in 1995. He spent his career working in Guizhou and was placed under investigation in August 2025. In March this year, he was expelled from the Party and removed from public office.
