A mountain fig known locally as the "Bee King Tree" has recently unveiled a stunning "honey waterfall" phenomenon on Jingmai Mountain in Pu'er, Yunnan province.
This century-old tree towers about 50 meters high, with 106 giant fan-shaped beehives hanging from its branches. It serves as a habitat for the giant honey bees.
With the onset of the rainy season, the bee colonies migrate en masse to mountain forests looking for nectar, leaving behind the mountain fig adorned with intact, bountiful hives. The layered honeycombs, translucent like natural amber, glisten with honey droplets poised to fall.
From a distance, the ancient tree radiates a brilliant glow, resembling a cascade of gold flowing down from the canopy. This breathtaking spectacle, known as the "honey waterfall", is a unique summer attraction of Jingmai Mountain.
