Longyen's view was echoed by Jozef Hrdlicka, a reporter for Slovakia's Extra plus. "This place is truly significant because it is one of the most important places where the history of the Communist Party of China began," he said, noting that the Party had transformed China "from an agrarian country into a world superpower".
The journalists then proceeded to the Gubei Civic Center in Changning District, a 2,500-square-meter facility that opened in 2013 and receives more than 6,000 visits monthly from both local and expatriate residents. The center offers services including administrative support, daily living assistance, cultural exchange programs, and legislative outreach.
Following an interactive session with site staff, Kolorindra Garry Fabrice Ranaivoson, a journalist with L'Express de Madagascar, highlighted local civic practices.
"Community decisions are not made by just one or two people, but by their elected representatives — that's inclusive decision-making," he said. "To me, this is what democracy looks like — a duty of care to the people."
