A Miyun chicken farmer who trapped a woman in his home and raped her 10 times will appeal next week at the city's No 2 Intermediate Court to reduce his 11-year-sentence.

Jia Zhencai, 47, claims his victim consented to having sexual intercourse on all occasions, and disputes the degree of the punishment. Jia is currently residing at a detention center in the city.

Last December, he was convicted of rape and sentenced into 11 years behind bars by Miyun county court.

His female victim surnamed Hu, 28, who also lives in Jinpuluo village in Miyun County, sells mobile phones in a shopping center.

On Oct 7, 2009 as Hu was walking home after work, Jia offered to give her a ride home in his car at the entrance to the village.

Hu asked to be let off when they arrived at the village park, just 500 m west of her house. Jia told Hu he would stop at the next corner.

However, Jia drove directly home and dragged Hu into his house.

Jia threatened Hu by saying he would kill her if she shouted or tried to escape, the press officer of Miyun county court Yao Dongmin told METRO Tuesday.

Hu was tied up by rope. Over the next two days she was raped 10 times, according to the indictment.

On Oct 9, 2009 as Jia tended his chicken farm, Hu escaped by tying a pair of trousers around her naked waist.

She managed to find another villager nearby and asked that person to inform her husband and mother-in-law.

The police were called and Jia was arrested on the same day.
