Yu Nan, 31-year-old Berlin Golden Bear winner, shares her experience of lying nude among 12 supermodels to pose for a high-end fashion magazine, writes METRO'S Li Jing

Actress Yu Nan joined 12 supermodels to pose nude for Elle China's June issue in a bid to raise awareness about environment protection. Under the direction of photographer Chen Man, Yu took a leading role at the shoot and will appear naked on the magazine's cover. Despite the fact that the 169-cm tall actress was the shortest in the group, she attracted the most attention with her confident smile and iconic full lips. Hailed as an "art house queen", Yu has played many compelling female characters in movies that include Lunar Eclipse and The Story of Er Mei and she has picked up many awards for her onscreen work. For her role in Tuya de hun shi (Tuya's Marriage), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 2007, she collected the best actress nod at the Chicago International Film Festival. Often compared to silver screen giants Gong Li and Zhang Ziyi and described as the successor to both, Yu told METRO she really just wants to follow her own path.
