Finland's Janne Korpi won gold on Sunday. He was the only person taking part with a TTR top-10 ranking.
The silver medal was won by 20-year-old Anton Bilare, from Sweden.
Sergey Lapushin, a 21-year-old from Russia, ended up with the bronze.
"I saw the first double cork in the history of the Red Bull Nanshan Open during Saturday's qualifying competition," said Steve Zdarsky, director of the event.
A double cork is a difficult move that calls for two "corks" to be performed in the same trick - some 1,080-degrees of turns.
"Chinese contestants have improved a lot in the competition this year," Zdarsky said.
"Eight years ago, Chinese contestants could only finish moves on the small and low platforms. This year, they were able to conduct moves on the big and higher platforms."
He Wei pulled off a difficult move during the first round of qualifying when he turned 720 degrees then grabbed the board.
"I knew I would perform well today," he said at the end of Saturday's qualifying. "But I never thought I would end up in third place after qualifying. The greatest thing is to try your best when performing."
Another Chinese contestant, Bao Xiaoguo, also made it into the final round and got to make some impressive moves on Sunday.
Bao also failed to medal but impressed organizations.
His performance was especially inspiring because he broke a vertebrae before the competition.
"Bao insisted on performing on the big platform and contributed many great moves, which impressed many of us in the organization committee," Zdarsky said.
Bao has only trained as a professional snowboarder for two years and his participation at such a high-level event was regarded as a major achievement.
