The Beijing government will subsidize used-car owners willing to have their cars dismantled or sold to other provinces to improve the city's environment. Do you think it will have an effect?
Simply thinking of all the policies the government has come up with in the past few years, how many of them have really have the effect they were meant to? Few. Usually the government makes measures because it is forced to put in place a temporary solution or face the problem. For sure, it looks pretty with brand new cars on the street, but I believe only those who happen to be in the mood to get a new car will respond to the move. My car is old, yet it still runs pretty well. Why would I pay tens of thousands of yuan to replace it?
