When art meets food

From Aug 29 to Sept 10, Italian Chef Gianluca Visani and contemporary artist Francesco De Grandi jointly invite you to take an Italian journey with "Classic and Revival" Art & Gourmet Festival at Barolo restaurant of The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing.

A series of paintings from Francesco De Grandi are displayed at Barolo. The paintings are permeated with a subtle tone of reminiscence, unfolds into an assorted anthology of personal tales. Francesco De Grandi, born in Palermo in 1968, has established himself as one of the most relevant figures in Italian figurative painting scene. While Gianluca Visani, who joined The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing in May this year, has been known for his passion for cooking and extensive experience in the field.

During this festival, Barolo managed to fuse food and art in a delectable and inventive way. Exuding the spirit of a successful chef, plus charm, creativity and passion, chef Gianluca sculpts with all foods to make an edible art, perfectly matched with the paintings. He brings the taste of traditional Italian home cooking by presenting diners the vibrancies and romance of Italy with a burst of flavors through his new creations, such as Scallops with Cured Pork Cheek, Pumpkin Cream, Toasted Almond, Aged Balsamic, Home Made Fettuccine with Boston Lobster and Spicy Tomato, and Atlantic Cod with Leek Stew, perfectly matched with exquisite regional Italian wines.

"At The Ritz-Carlton Beijing, we extend our time-honored luxuries into art and cultural activities, aiming to create inspirational and memorable experience for our guests and make the Ritz-Carlton be part of their lifestyle," David Wilson, general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Beijing, commented.
