The cooperation week, attended by education officers, ambassadors to China, university chancellors, scholars and representatives from international organizations, will discuss educational cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, taking this opportunity to promote regional communication and development.
"The goal of this education week shall not simply be about coming in, but also going out," said Liu Zhenmin, deputy minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during the opening ceremony of the education week.
The China-ASEAN Education Cooperation Week has been influential among ASEAN countries in the last several years. The education week has organized many meaningful activities, including an education minister roundtable conference, university president forum, symposium, education exhibition and summer camp.
Liu said, "The education week has done well in promoting the two parties' higher education, vocational education and primary education. But I suggest it should also launch cooperation in vocational training, information and resources sharing, and mutual recognition of education qualifications to better realize education integration in China and ASEAN countries."
