Guizhou province says it plans to spend 2-billion yuan ($300 million) on 3,000 more charging terminals and 30 charging stations for new energy vehicles (NEV) this year, as one of China's first "low-carbon" provinces and it has the nation’s first photovoltaic charging station on a highway, the one from Zunyi to Bijie.

The Chinese government is promoting the use of NEVs with subsidies, tax breaks and greater convenience in getting a license plate, and its new guidelines that were announced on Nov 17, call for the country to build more than 12,000 new charging stations before 2020 to meet the needs of at least 2 million NEVs.
