Guizhou government officials announced that they will put 18 billion yuan ($2.74 billion) into relocating the people of 3,200 poor villages, about 300,000 in all, at the 12th Guizhou provincial People's Congress's fourth session, on Jan 26.
The acting governor, Sun Zhigang, in his report on government work, added that they will develop tourism and e-commerce in rural areas to help develop local economy and raise incomes, and will build more hospitals and schools and train more teachers to improve living conditions and provide preferential policies covering children from poor families to give them greater accessible to education.
