The rising temperatures and agreeable weather of summer are coming and in anticipation the Kempinski Hotel Guiyang invited guests to celebrate its Maibock Beer Festival at Paulaner Brauhaus on May 20 and 21.
In Germany, May is the merry month which is celebrated as the awakening of spring. People put up a richly decorated maypole in a central place as a symbol of fertility and resurrection. This year, Paulaner Brauhaus Guiyang set up a Maypole adorned with green wreaths on Paulaner terrace and served specially tapped Maibock to guests to celebrate the beer festival.
The spacious and private beer garden was decorated with colorful flowers and green plants to welcome the advent of spring. The fragrance of flowers mixed with the refreshing aroma of home-brewed beer. Guests were relaxed and enjoyed themselves on the open terrace in an al fresco setting. In addition to free-flowing home-brewed Maibock beer traditional German delights were served including a tasty BBQ buffet, delicate desserts, a mixed fruit salad, authentic German sausages and many other dishes. The environment was filled with traditional music by a popular local band. Friendly staff and efficient managers were always around to assist and talk with guests, giving them a chance to learn more about the history, customs, food and traditions of Bavaria.
As night approached, lamps were lit in the garden, making it mysterious and romantic. Sitting on the open terrace with one-liter beer mugs in hand, and enjoying the band’s party hits and traditional songs, guests reveled in a night of sophisticated charm.
Paulaner made sure every guest experienced authentic Bavarian specialties alongside freshly tapped Maibock beer served on traditional German tables and benches by staff dressed in Bavarian costumes. More than 500 guests attended the festival, at which the official opening of the alfresco terrace was announced.
The Paulaner Brauhaus is located on the sixth floor of the Kempinski Hotel Guiyang in the centre of Guiyang. Its huge indoor area and spacious open-air terrace are a perfect place to enjoy German food and fresh beer while listening to music and enjoying Guiyang’s scenic views.
