A delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam visited Southwest China's Guizhou province on July 21 and was impressed by Guizhou's achievements in tourism and big data development.
Qingyan Ancient Town, a 5A level national tourist attraction south of Guiyang, has a history of over 600 years and attracts 200,000 tourists from all over the world every year.
The delegation was interested in the intangible cultural heritages in Qingyan, and was impressed by the balance between tourism development and historic preservation.
As one of China's first national big data comprehensive pilot zones, Guizhou's big data industry caught the attention of the delegation. At the Guizhou Big Data Exhibition Center, the delegation learned more about the big data development in Guizhou.

To support poverty alleviation work, Guizhou has established a targeted poverty alleviation big data platform that collects the data of 19 government departments that can automatically recognize poverty stricken families.
Since 2011, Guizhou has maintained rapid economic growth and ranks in the top three in China for that.
In addition, during the first half of 2019, the total number of visitors in Guizhou reached 572 million, a year-on-year increase of 21.6 percent. The total tourism income totaled 574.08 billion yuan ($81.26 billion), increasing by 31 percent.
