Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, plans to build a dedicated internet data channel approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which can directly connect with international websites.
The channel is designed for industrial parks to directly connect with the Administration of International Communications Gateway Exchanges that accelerates the link speed to international websites.
During the first half of 2019, the scale of Guizhou's software and IT services above 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) had increased by 27.4 percent, the added-value of the electronic information manufacturing industry had increased by 22.4 percent, telecommunication services had increased by 105.1 percent, and the online sales had increased by 28.4 percent.
Known as China's Data Valley and the hub city of the Belt and Road Initiative, Guiyang has seen potential international communication demands during its export-oriented economy development.
International technological enterprises such as Dell, Google, Apple, Intel, and Oracle have gathered in Guiyang, which has contributed to the rapid development of the big data industry in the city.
The channel will reduce data flow bypass and congestion in Guiyang, providing an improved international communication network to meet the needs of enterprise development, as well as promoting industrial transformation and upgrading.
