A truck passes by a vehicle overload detector set up at the entrance to the Wuxi East Expressway Toll Station, on Dec 17. The Wuxi section handles 67 percent of the traffic volume of the east-west road network of Southern Jiangsu Expressway. In order to effectively control the overloaded vehicles entering the expressway, the weighing and detection system facilities have been installed at the entrances of all expressway toll stations in Wuxi -- including Wuxi East, Wuxi West, Wuxi North, Yuqi, Nanquan. Those vehicles with normal carrying capacity are released automatically after a fee deduction. Vehicles are forbidden to enter the expressway and forced to unload if they are found to be overloaded.
