ULAN BATOR -- An exhibition of traditional Chinese embroidery artworks is on display at the Mongolian National Modern Art Gallery here to celebrate the 70th anniversary of China-Mongolia diplomatic ties.

The five-day exhibition features a total of 90 artworks by embroidery masters from Jiangsu (Suzhou), Hunan, Guangdong and Sichuan Provinces and the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China.

The embroidery exhibition is part of a series of cultural events to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two neighboring countries.

"Embroidery which has a history of thousands of years is an integral part of the Chinese culture. I have been embroidering for over 40 years," Wu Yuying, an embroidery master from Sichuan, told Xinhua.

Sichuan's embroidery is one of the four most famous embroidering styles in China, she said.
