A Shanghai court became the first in China to launch a mobile app to provide legal proceedings to the public.
Li Sheng, a spokesman for Shanghai No 1 Intermediate People’s Court, told China Daily that users can get instructions for legal actions, submit materials and get in touch with judges on the mobile platform. The app was launched for the Android system on Nov 26 and will be available in app store soon.
The mobile app for smartphones and tablets are an extension of the online service that the court introduced in 2009 as a growing number of people are using mobile Internet, Li added.
More than 2,100 people have benefited from the online service to get advice and answers from the court as of last month, data provided from the court showed.
