Contemporary abstracts
PIFO New Art Gallery has focused on and promoted Abstract Chinese art via an annual exhibition since 2008. The seventh edition now underway has an academic orientation as it looks at the roots of artists, showing how these artists find inspiration from individual experiences and thoughts in today's China, against a backdrop of a Chinese lifestyle that has largely been globalized. The exhibition features 12 artists, including Liang Quan, Tan Ping and Hu Qinwu.
10 am-6 pm, daily except for Mondays, until July 6. PIFO New Art Gallery, B-11, 798 Art Zone, 2 Jiuxianqiao Lu (Road), Chaoyang district, Beijing. 010-5978-9562.
Abstract exploration
Susan Yeung's abstract paintings feature as many elements as her birthplace Hong Kong: sophistication, boldness and dynamism. She continues to experiment with various subjects to present her soul-searching journey. She has built an art vocabulary by incorporating Eastern philosophies into her oil paintings on canvas. Meanwhile, her life experiences as an artist, media professional, public relations guru and radio presenter have provided infinite sources of inspiration. Her major solo exhibition is on now at the Parkview Green Art gallery.
10 am-10 pm, until July 7. Parkview Green Art, L2-27, Tower A, 9 Dongdaqiao Lu (Road), Chaoyang district, Beijing. 010-5662-8888.
