Painter captures hometown
Chen Chengbo (1895-1947) was an important artist who grew up in Taiwan, studied in Tokyo and worked as an art teacher in Shanghai. After he returned to Taiwan in the 1930s, he often painted his hometown Chiayi. His first exhibition in Shanghai features his paintings as well as historical documents, photographs and film recordings.

Riding on
Zhang Xiangdong, a promoter of cycling tours in China and an entrepreneur, will give a lecture at Fang Suo Commune on July 8 to talk about the connection between his cycling experiences and his business. Zhang rode the world's five most beautiful cycling routes over the course of seven years - southern France in 2007, Qinghai Lake in China in 2009, the Great Ocean Road in Australia in 2010, Garden Route in South Africa in 2011 and the Lakes District in Argentina in 2013. The 37-year-old is now the president of China's first Nasdaq-listed mobile Internet company.
