Turkish PM says to enhance economic cooperation with BiH

SARAJEVO - Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said here on Thursday that his country is taking new steps to enhance economic cooperation with Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH).

A Turkish delegation headed by Yildirim met with BiH Council of Ministers Denis Zvizdic in Sarajevo and the two sides discussed economic issues including investment potentials with special emphasis on transport, infrastructure and agriculture.

Zvizdic said during a joint press conference that a Free Trade Agreement with Turkey will be finalized soon.

Turkey has always been in the top ten trading partners for BiH, and the amount of trade between BiH and Turkey was 1.2 billion KM ($750 million) last year, said Zvizdic.

For his part, Yildirim agreed with his counterpart on the fact that Turkey has always been a top trading partner for BiH, adding that Turkey is taking new steps to enhance the cooperation with BiH in economic terms.

Yildirim pointed out that the trade volume between Turkey and BiH is expanding, emphasizing that the current quota for meat export from BiH is 15 tons and that in the next five years it will be determined by the Free Trade Agreement. ($1 =1.59 KM)
