Shanghai Intl Airport profit up 37% in Q1

SHANGHAI - Shanghai International Airport Co Ltd reported a 36.7 percent year-on-year growth in net profit for the first quarter of 2019.

In a filing to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, the operator of Shanghai Pudong International Airport, the company said it made a net profit of 1.39 billion yuan ($206 million) in the January-March period.

Revenue rose 21.6 percent year-on-year to 2.77 billion yuan.

In 2018, Shanghai Pudong International Airport handled 74 million passengers and 3.77 million tons of cargo and mail, the country's second busiest.
