Musical treat from Teheran
The Teheran Symphony Orchestra will present a concert that marks the conclusion of this year's Shanghai Spring Music Festival. The orchestra founded in 1933 is Iran's oldest and largest. Conducted by music director and chief conductor Ali Rahbari, it will play Alireza Mashayekhi's Nima, Chinese folk piece Jasmine Flower and Western classical pieces.

US orchestra to stage show
The Philadelphia Orchestra will perform in Shanghai under the baton of music director Yannick Nezet-Seguin. The orchestra has just signed a long-term partnership with the Shanghai Oriental Art Center to play a more active part in the Shanghai music scene and carry out more people-to-people exchanges with the local communities.

Lepzig string quartet to play
The Leipzig String Quartet, formed by the string principals of the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra in 1988, will perform in Shanghai. Praised by the New York Times for presenting "rich, mellow, unadulterated beauty" and a true "Leipzig sound", the chamber ensemble will play pieces by Brahms, Beethoven and Dvorak.
