[cycnet.com:] What position does Haoyue Group occupy among the beef producers in the world? We both export and import beef, then what role do we play? And mad cow disease has been reported in other countries and has affected both the beef producers and beef marketing. How do we deal with this issue?
[Mr. Cong Lianbiao:] Haoyue Group is located in Changchun of Jilin Province, which is not only an old industrial base and the granary of China. The city abounds in natural resources and has a favorable climate for corn planting. As you know, the cattle and sheep are fed with grass, and we can turn the granary into a meat production base, another production base after the old industrial auto production base. Since it started in 1998, the group has cooperated with partners from Germany, France and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. We aimed high in the production of beef products.
[Mr Cong Lianbiao:] We could secure a 20-year lead in the industry of the nation. Our plant, designed in 1997, was put into production in 2000. And within the eight years we have developed to be the industry leader with the largest scale in Asia. Our company has successively been certified by the ISO9000 standard and the Green System Standard. It’s widely known that the astronaut’s food has to pass the standard of ISTTP and our products have already met that standard. And our products have been imported so far by 17 countries and also supplied to the McDonald’s, which applies high standard on its suppliers. In case we fail any item of the standard we’ll be fined 300, 000 yuan. In the Middle East market our trademark is valued at 200 million USD. This is a big sum of money.
[Mr Cong Lianbiao:] As for the mad cow disease, we know it originated in Europe and Britain. The Europeans tended not to eat the byproducts of cattle. And those byproducts were then crushed into pieces and offered to feed cattle. We know the cattle graze, and they have defied the order of nature. We know that the Northeast has a distinct division between four seasons. And I can say that the weather here is the most environment-friendly and the most favorable in cattle raising. And we have done a lot in curbing the disease. Therefore, it is not necessary for us to fear the disease in China.
