Tian Heying is a local resident at Shanghuang village, Lucheng district in Changzhi. Her family used to live on the income generated from their 0.33 hectare-farmland, but serious family illness drove them into poverty.

Since 2015 Tian's family received agricultural and financial subsidies for targeted households. Her grandson also received assistance from an education program. The family was lifted out of poverty in 2017.
