SEOUL - South Korea has finalized the selection of its Olympic contingent and will send 245 athletes to the London Games, the country's top sports body said Tuesday.
The 245 athletes will take part in 22 of 26 sports on offer, as South Korea has failed to qualify for basketball, tennis, equestrian and canoe, according to the Korean Olympic Committee.
The team South Korea sends to London will be the smallest since the 1984 Los Angeles Games, when the country had 210 competitors.
South Korea aims to capture more than 10 gold medals for a top-10 finish in the London Olympics slated for July 27 to August 12.
